I' M NEW
How Do I Get Involved?
As you feel comfortable with VWCC and desire to make this your home church, we invite you to serve with us in any area of our church that you feel interested or have talents or giftings for. We do recommend that parents of children in our nursery and children's ministry talk to the leadership in those departments, and see if you can partner with them as they minister to your children.
We invite you to fill out an information card and give us your most current information. We invite you to enjoy our services and get to know us as a church by involving yourself in our Home Groups or one of our many weekly Bible studies.
We believe in doing church as a team, working together and using our gifts and talents to strengthen each other as the body of Christ.
Church as a Team is the fabric that holds the ministry of VWCC together. We recognize that no good deed done apart from the Holy Spirit's direction will bring forth fruit. So it is not our desire to create a ministry here at VWCC because it seems like a good idea, or another church has been successful with it. We must first believe that God truly desires it for VWCC. Then usually He will place a burden on someone’s heart to lead it, and on many people's heart to bring it forth and maintain it.
The strength of a church is not measured by the amount of ministries that it has, but on the involvement of the church body in the ministries that God has mandated for that church. Our desire is to see every ministry at VWCC filled with quality leadership, and a more than sufficient quantity of servants. To minister is to serve! Remember that Moses was a servant to God and Joshua was Moses' minister. (Joshua 1:1)
Desire – What are you passionate about! What has God placed as a burning desire in your heart. That’s where we want you!
Experience – There is no substitute for it! If you’ve been through it, or are a professional at it, who better to learn from?
Spiritual Gifts – There are so many gifts; gifts that God has bestowed on His church, gifts that Christ has bestowed on His church and gifts that the Holy Spirit is operating through His church. To be aware of our spiritual gifts is to cooperate with the one who has given these to us!
Individual Style – Do you work well in a group, or can you go it alone? Does a blank page scare you or excite you? Your style will not necessarily tell you what ministry you should be in, as much as what you should be doing within that ministry.
Growth – This goes both ways. This is where we as your church leadership have expectations of your continued growth in the things of God. This is also where you are free to grow and develop in Him, and change your Desire, Experience and Spiritual Gifts.
Natural Abilities - We can often use our natural abilities to hide our weaknesses. These can be great attributes within the body of Christ. They can also be a label or a mold that we have to break out of.
Church As A Team Conference
We have Conferences here at VWCC that teach principles of leadership, highlight areas of need, and address certain areas of change or growth in our church body. The Conference is centered around the DESIGN Course which allows us to find out where God might be speaking to us to participate with Him in serving his church, and our community. The DESIGN Course is encouraged for all first time participants.
Other classes offered through this weekend have been: Developing the Attitude of A Leader, Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution, Power of Prayer, Home Improvement, Creative and Caring Small Groups, Understanding the Prophetic, Fractal Leadership and Altar Ministry.
Look for this class as part of our Wednesday Night Bible studies for adults.
